Around 90 per cent of antibiotics in Switzerland are prescribed outside hospitals. From 2026 to 2029, ASAP will be working on six mutually reinforcing areas.
We maintain dialogue with professional bodies, cantonal authorities, pharmacists and networks of doctors to ensure that antibiotic stewardship carries weight where decisions are made.
We collect existing teaching materials on antibiotic stewardship, make them available to lecturers and raise awareness of the topic at national conferences.
Through ASAP+, citizen partners contribute their perspectives to the design and communication of our work.
ASAP operates with a small executive team: Dr Yolanda Müller Chabloz, Scientific Director (Unisanté), and Dr Nathalie Preiswerk, Platform Coordinator. The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), chaired by Dr Yolanda Müller Chabloz, provides technical and strategic guidance on the work. It brings together representatives from the FOPH, the Institutes of General Practice, the SGAIM, the SSI, ANRESIS, Paediatrics Switzerland, the Institute for Implementation Science in Healthcare and the FMH, as well as citizen partners from ASAP+. Their contributions are provided by their respective institutions as in-kind support. ASAP receives a grant from the FOPH and is also supported by the College of General Practice (KHM), under whose auspices the platform operates.
